TL;DR: Anonymous usage stats only — no personal data, no accounts, no ads, no tracking.
Theft Alarm collects anonymous, aggregate usage analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve it — for example which screens are opened and for how long, which buttons and protection modes are tapped, and when the app is launched. We do not collect any personal data: there are no accounts, no sign-ups, no advertising SDKs, no advertising identifier, no device fingerprint, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
Usage events are sent to our own private server (hosted on Supabase) — not to a third-party advertising or analytics network. Each app run is tagged with a random session identifier that is kept only in memory and regenerated on the next cold launch (or after 30 minutes in the background). It is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to track you across sessions or apps. Alongside each event we record only non-identifying context: the app version, iOS version, device type (iPhone/iPad), language, and country/region. This data is not sold or shared with anyone.
Your PIN code, alarm preferences, and settings are stored only in your device's local storage. They never leave your phone and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
The app reads the accelerometer, battery state, and proximity sensor only while a protection mode is armed, entirely on-device, to detect movement. No sensor data is recorded or transmitted.
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
The app is not directed at children, and the anonymous usage analytics described above contain no personal data from anyone, including children.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address before the change takes effect.
